What is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become very popular all over the world today.  Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think and mimic human actions. Artificial Intelligence is a broad field of computer science that focuses on creating systems capable of performing tasks that would typically require human intelligence. AI has abilities to display human-like capabilities such as reasoning, learning, planning, creating and performing tasks like experience, recognizing patterns, understanding natural language and making decisions.

Types of Artificial Intelligence:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) are mainly divided into three types based on their performances and abilities. These are-

artificial Intelligence

1. Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI):

ANI also called Weak AI is a term for thinking that is ‘simulated’. It is a type of AI that we encounter most frequently today. ANI focuses on performing a single task or a narrow set of related task exceptionally well. It seem to act intelligently, but they don’t have any awareness of what they are doing. ANI can’t apply its knowledge from one task to another. For example, a Chatbot might talk to you in a way that seems natural, but it doesn’t know who and why talking to them.

2. Artificial General Intelligence (AGI):

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) also known as strong AI. AGI is acting a smart human and thinking like one with a conscious, subjective mind. An AGI can learn new skills and adopt to unforeseen circumstances. AGI would be able to analyze information, draw logical conclusions and solve problems in a way that rivals human cognition. An Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) could perceive its surrounding, interpret complex concepts and interact with the world in a meaningful way. For example, when two humans talk, they probably both know who they are, what they’re doing and why. Use for these kinds of systems include Self-Driving Cars.

3. Artificial Supper Intelligence (ASI):

ASI is usually refers to a level of general and strong AI that is smarter than humans, if that’s even possible. The Artificial Supper Intelligence (ASI) is seen as the logical next step after the Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) because it can do more than humans can. ASI could tackle problems that are currently intractable for humans, like developing solutions for climate change or designing new materials with properties beyond our imagination. ASI could continuously learn and improve at an unprecedented rate, surpassing human limitations in knowledge acquisition and understanding.
